Today on the Mountain - Thursday, March 11

Winter is Back! 35cm of snow last night with over 35cm more in the forecast from now until Sunday! This is the time to enjoy the fresh powder.

Winter has returned to Mt Seymour!  The mountain has been blasted with a winter storm with much more snow to come.  42cm of snow has fallen in the past 2 days with 35cm from just last night.  There is also another 35cm of snow in the forecast to fall between now and Sunday.

The current snow base on Mt Seymour is 370cm at the summit and 130cm at parking lot level with 29 runs and 2 terrain parks open.  The conditions are also perfect for snowshoeing with fresh snow on the trails making Mt Seymour a true winter wonderland.  In addition to the regular trails open, snowshoeing drop-ins are happening on the weekend at 1pm as well as the popular chocolate fondue tour happening on Saturday night.  Ski and Snowboard lessons are also running regularly.  

With fresh powder in the trails, fresh snow on the snowshoe trails, and the tobogganing park open for families, it is the perfect time to come to Mt Seymour.  For everyone wanting take advantage of this late winter snowfall, the Spring Snow Pass is still on sale for $99 for adults, youth, and students, and $79 for children.

As the snow continues to fall, Mt Seymour is gearing up for a weekend of events.  On Friday, March 12 starting at 6pm, Pacific Boarder presents Night Light, a night time rail jam for snowboarders of all ages and abilities.  On Saturday, March 13, Billabong will be hosting their annual Flaunt It competition at Mt Seymour.  Flaunt It is an All-Girls Slopestyle and Rail Jam snowboard series that is aimed at giving girls from all levels a chance to Flaunt It while providing over $30,000 in cash and prizes for the girls to vie for.

Spring Break Hours of Operation March 7 - 14

Lifts opening from 8:30 AM daily during Spring Break from March 7th to the 14th

During the spring break period from March 8th to March 14th, Mount Seymour will be operating on the Weekend / Holiday schedule with lifts opening from 8:30 AM!

During this period the A&W shuttle bus will also be operating on the Weekend / Holiday schedule with continued trips from Lonsdale Quay at 9:30am and 5:30pm, and trips from Mt Seymour at 5:00pm and 9:00pm daily.

Enjoy Spring Break at Mt Seymour

With special promotions, 5 events and the holiday schedule running all week, now is the time to hit Mt Seymour!

Mt Seymour is the only place to spend Spring Break. With a week chalked-full of events, special promotions, and good snow conditions, this is the place to have fun on the slopes and get out of the city.
 
With the buzz of winter sport still in the city, we are excited to be offering affordable options for everyone who wants to come up the mountain to go skiing or snowboarding during the Spring Break. We are running at holiday hours for the whole week as well from 8:30am - 10:00pm
 
During Spring Break from March 8 to March 12, Mt Seymour is offering the Spring Break Family Special.  For every adult lift ticket purchase, 1 child aged 6-12 will receive 50% off their lift ticket.  All other skiers and snowboarders can also take advantage of the Spring Snow Pass on sale now and ride the slopes the whole break, and for the rest of the season, for only $99.

For those wanting to bring their ski and snowboard skills to the next level, anyone registered for a Private Lesson during Spring Break will receive 25% off their next Private Lesson.  Spring Lesson Camps are also continuing through the break for kids and adults alike.  They are the best way to get out onto the mountain, learn some news skills, and have fun.

On top of everything we have to offer for Spring Break, the mountain will also be buzzing with 5 ski and snowboard events happening during the week. Here is an outline of the events on Mt Seymour during Spring Break.

Spring Snowshoeing at Mt Seymour

As the skies open up and cover Mt Seymour in snow, we have just released our Spring Snowshoeing Schedule

The skies have opened and covered Mt Seymour in beautiful fresh snow. Our snowshoe trails are looking better than ever and now is the time to take a hike through our scenic alpine trails. Leave the chaos of the city behind and immerse yourself in our winter environment. Make some fresh snowshoe tracks in the powder on the trails with the subdued sounds of the forest the only distraction.

In celebration of the winter sports fever that has gripped Vancouver, Mt Seymour is pleased to announce that the Spring Snow Pass is on sale now and passes are valid for use from the 20 February 2010 until the end of the 09-10 season. That’s a full 8 days earlier than usual, which gives Vancouver a chance to get out on the snow to emulate what our national heroes are doing on the international stage.

Spring Snow Passes cost just $99 for adult, youth, student and senior passes and $69 for child passes. That’s incredible value when you can ride every day until the end of the season. In fact, you only need to hit the mountain 3 times and you have got your moneys worth.

Plus, as a special bonus, every person that buys a Spring Snow Pass will go into the draw to win first prize of a set of K2 skis or a ROME snowboard. Second prize is a Rayne Longboard with custom Mt Seymour graphics and third prize are a pair of Dragon goggles.

Guys Night Out - Girls Ride FREE*

Presented by Granville Island Brewing, Guys Night Out - Girls Ride FREE is every Monday night with lots of great prizes and specials for event participants!

Hey Ladies! Come on up to Mt Seymour tonight to ride for free on 10cm of new snow! Along with our Apres ski in Elevations at 8pm, Nikita/Elm Company will be hosting a Relay Race at the base of Mystery Chair tonight. Check out their tent for more details, and to win some great prizes.

 

Girls Ride Free every Monday night from 6pm starting January 11th, 2010 to March 15th, 2010. This great night supports breast cancer research at the BC Cancer Foundation and is an awesome social night to share with friends. Donations will be accepted at Guest Services and during Apres Ski Night in Elevations as all proceeds go directly to the BC Cancer Foundation. So don't forget to bring up your wallet!
