Snowshoe Programs, for the most NATURE

If you can walk, you can snowshoe! Snowshoeing is such an accessible, affordable activity and it provides a great way to get active and experience BC's winter landscapes. Snowshoes now come equipped with cramp-ons for stability, easily tightened straps and sleek frames, making them safer, more user-friendly and fun for anyone with a desire to be in the snow. This combined with health benefits such as stress relief and improved cardiovascular health make snowshoeing one of the fastest growing winter sports.

Here are some tips to help make your first snowshoe outing a great experience:

What to wear: Layers! To stay warm and ready for all winter weather conditions it is important to bring several layers of clothing. This allows you to remove and add layers as you warm up or cool down. Wool or synthetic clothing like fleece and polypropylene are great for base and warm layers. If possible, avoid cotton clothing as when cotton gets wet (from sweat or wet weather) it stays wet and gets heavy and cold. Bring a wind or waterproof coat for over your warm layers. Then don't forget a warm hat, gloves, warm socks and sturdy (preferrably waterproof) winter footwear. What to bring: Bring extra energy snacks, water and bring extra layers of clothing in case you get wet or cold. If you are going out on your own or into the backcountry, there are further steps you can take to ensure a fun and safe trip. For a fun introduction to snowshoeing and Mt Seymour's Discovery Snowshoe Trails, join this guided 2-hour tour. You will learn the basic snowshoeing techniques while experiencing the beauty of winter and learning some of nature's survival secrets.

This invigorating snowshoe series is designed for parents and babies (or expecting Mom's with their caregiver's consent). Enjoy a 90 minute guided snowshoe tour followed by a tea and social. Parents must be able to carry their babies for at least 90 minutes and have their own comfortable carrier. Change tables are available before and after snowshoeing.

Light snack and hot tea (served in the Yurt afterwards)

Departure time is 11:00am, please arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes early to allow time for last minute feedings, diaper changes, and to get dressed. Meet in the Enquist Yurt located in the Tubing/Tobogganing Parking Lot (P2). The Yurt will be open at 10:30am.

Enjoy the enchantment of Mt Seymour at night with a gentle snowshoe tour and chocolate indulgence set amongst the sparkling snow covered trees. This is a prefect way to spend two hours of your Saturday evening with friends, a loved one, family or new friends met on the tour.

Special New Years Eve Chocolate Fondue Tour at 7:00pm on December 31st

Set your resolutions in snow with our unique New Year's Eve themed tour. This two hour tour will lead you through the snowy forest to a candle lit chocolate indulgence set amongst the trees. Enjoy a sparkling fruit beverage for an early toast to bring in the New Year!

Special Valentine's Day Chocoloate Fondue Tour at 7:00pm on February 14th

What could be more romantic than a chocolate indulgence served by candlelight in a forest blanketed in snow? Spend some time with your significant other while learning about the night sky and nature's best kept secrets, including wildlife mating rituals.

New this season! For those looking for a great workout, don't miss SnowFit! This focused 90 minute fitness hike is geared for those who are looking for a beginner to intermediate fitness routine within a group setting.

Let our interpretive guide and the moon's radiance lead you on this two hour tour! The myths, legends and history associated with the moon and the stars will have your curiosity peaked as you snowshoe through Mt Seymour's snow covered old growth forest.

Designed for the beginner, this women's only guided fitness program focuses on exercising in a friendly and supportive environment while working towards a fitness goal. Guides will provide tips for exercising while leading you through Mt Seymour's inspiring winter landscape.

The Silver Snowshoe Club is a perfect combination of fun, learning, fitness and socializing for the 50-plus. Our own 50-plus guide will lead you on a two hour tour through Mt Seymour's forested trails to experience the beauty of winter while getting some exercise. Follow up your snowshoe with an apres snow social in our cozy Elevation 1020m Restaurant, located in the Three Peaks Lodge.
