We pride ourselves at Mt Seymour as being the locals' mountain, so we invite you to join us Monday nights, 6pm to 10pm for the second season supporting a local, community-based charity called The Bloom Group. Last season we raised $17,700. They have been providing some of the most progressive social services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for over 50 years, including low-barrier shelters for women and children.
For the 2017 season, ladies can ski or snowboard at Mt Seymour for a minimum donation of $10, with $5 from every lift ticket going to The Bloom Group. You can donate more to The Bloom Group if you wish. Men are still welcome to come out and enjoy some evening shredding. Lift tickets for men from 6pm - 10pm are $33. Men, you can also donate for the cause. There's NO need to pick up any vouchers at retail outlets this season. Tickets will be sold out of the ticket booths at Guest Services. Ticket and rental packages will be sold in the Alpine Activity Centre. At 9pm the Apres Ski in the Rock Chute starts, with a fun little Trivia for some sweet prizes by our sponsors Rip Curl, Helly Hansen, Dakine, Sandbox, Thirtytwo, Dragon, Instance and Pacific Boarder. Don't miss out!
6pm -10pm | Every Monday from Jan 23 - Mar 27
Ladies pay a minimum $10 cash donation at Guest Services when you arrive. Please bring CASH for quick processing.
The Bloom Group | Community. Services. Together.
The Bloom Group Community Services Society has provided some of the most progressive social services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for over 50 years. We support the most vulnerable in our community through the provision of a range of housing, health and social services.
Women and Children Services | Women. Forward. Together.
Respect for who they are. Support for who they can be. For many women in crisis, their lives are complicated by the demands of motherhood or by mental health, addiction, abuse, and other challenges. Our shelters for women and children are designed to accommodate and welcome them as they are—without judgement or exclusion. For those facing mental health, addiction, abuse, and other challenges, Powell Place offers a welcome refuge and a starting point for their journey to safety and stability. For women with children, Springhouse provides a shelter from homelessness or violence, and ensures mothers and their children can stay together when they’re at their most vulnerable. In a safe, homelike environment, we the women serve with services that help them heal, grow stronger, and start the next chapter of their lives. In 2014 we housed and served 177 women. One in three moved on to permanent housing or treatment services, breaking the cycle of poverty and abuse.
