Bronek Czech Cup

The Bronek Czech Cup is a community Family Ski and Snowboard Day under the patronage of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver. This race is a great family event open to the Polish community and their Canadian guests and is designed for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. To register, please call 604 431 8403.

9:00am Registration, Whiskey Jack Room (registratrion fees/lift tickets/race numbers)
9:00am - 10:00am Racers warm up on training course
9:30am Open Training/ Race Course Inspection
10:00am Race Opening ceremony
10:00am Ski Race: 1st run (Children & Youth)
11:15am Ski Race: 2nd run (Children & Youth)
12:30pm Adults Ski Race: 1st & 2nd run
2:00pm - 3:00pm Closing Ceremony and Awards ceremony

About Bronek (Bronislaw) Czech (1908-1944):
Bronek was a Polish skier born in Zakopane. He was the Polish champion 24 times in various ski competitions and took part in the Olympic Winter Games in 1928, 1932 and 1936. He participated in Ski jumping, Nordic combined, Alpine skiing, and Nordic relay. He was a soldier of the Polish Underground movement during WWII. He was captured by the Germans during the war, imprisoned and murdered in the German Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
