Base Radio Operator
The Base Radio Operator is responsible for supporting efficient mountain communication through the use and monitoring of the base VHF radio and telephone systems. You must have clear and concise speaking skills, be professional and well organized and must able to coordinate the approproiate response to various departmental situations as they arise. VHF radio experience is desirable , however not essential as we will provide training. This is a seasonal full-time position that starts immediately and ends in mid-April. Building Services Attendant
The Building Services Department needs people with janitorial experience to clean all Guest and Staff Areas, safely and efficiently. Must have a valid BC Driver License. a reliable vehicle and be willing to work day or evening shifts on weekdays and/or weekends. Administration Assistant to the General Manager
We are currently seeking an Administration Assistant to provide wide ranging administrative support to our Busy General Manager. Based in our Offices located on Mt Seymour this position would be responsible for ensuring the overall successful operation of the General Managers Office. Duties would include: screening incoming calls and dealing with a wide variety of enquires relating to our two businesses, managing the General Managers schedule, including appointments and meetings, handling correspondence – including report writing, meeting minutes, memos and policies, maintaining effective filing and record keeping systems, organizing events and liaising with different areas of the organization. .
We are seeking a well-organized, enthusiastic, detail orientated individual, with strong writing skills to join the office. Candidates must be confident with good interpersonal skills – able to deal with a diverse range of clients, business contacts and staff. The ability to work independently with minimal direction is also required. Good typing speeds, and good computer skills are essential.
Since we operate in a resort setting and are recreation focused – we are seeking someone who is motivated by this type of work environment.
This is a full time salaried position working Monday – Friday. We offer competitive pay, medical and dental benefits as well as a range of resort discounts. Our office location requires candidates to have their own vehicle.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant to the General Manager is responsible for providing wide ranging administrative support to the General Manager. This will include administrative duties relating to the following key areas: Mt Seymour Resorts, Sea To Sky Parks Services Ltd, BP Society of Park Facility Operators, RV & Camping Coalition, BC Parks for Mt Seymour Resorts and Sea To Sky Parks Services Ltd and CWSAA.
Responsibilities:
- To uphold Mt Seymour’s mandate.
- To ensure the overall successful and professional operation of the General Manager’s office.
- To screen all incoming calls to the General Manager’s Office, respond to issues and enquires as necessary and communicate with the General Manager in a timely fashion to coordinate responses to calls.
- To screen all incoming emails to the General Managers Office, deleting Spam, responding to issues and enquires as necessary and communicating with the General Manager in a timely fashion to coordinate responses to emails.
- To provide ongoing administrative support to the General Manager, as required.
- To participate in daily briefing sessions with the General Manager to coordinate the days activities.
- To generate, maintain and keep updated a database of standard letters, forms and documents which are to be used within the General Managers Office.
- To coordinate and proofread with detail all written correspondence as required by the General Manager.
- To respond to general enquires as directed by the General Manager.
- To administer all incoming and outgoing mail.
- To assist the General Manager with the scheduling and management of his appointments and meetings.
- Assist in making travel arrangements for the General Manager.
- To set up and attend meetings, take meeting minutes and circulate as required.
- To maintain an up to date, efficient filing system, which facilitates the quick retrieval of information.
- To maintain and coordinate any IT related issues with the contracted IT coordinator.
- To maintain the Bulletin Board, as required.
- To order office and janitorial supplies, as required.
- Maintain and monitor telecommunications (cellular phones and pager) contracts.
- Maintain parking violation and report submissions
- To ensure the efficient operation of the General Manager’s Office in his absence.
- To maintain effective communications with the General Manager during his frequent business trips to the Park Operation, this will involve coordinating requests for supplies and information and other related activities.
- To work on special projects as directed by the General Manager.
- To liaise with the Controller and provide administrative assistance and support as needed.
- To provide administrative support to other Key Managers and Controller as directed by the General Manager.
- To maintain confidentiality.
- Other related duties as required.
Marketing
- Update social media sites (facebook, twitter, etc.) on for Mt Seymour Resorts and Sea to Sky Park Services.
- Assist and coordinate media inquiries.
- Assisting with mountain wide events.
- Assisting with planning and executing Sea to Sky Park Services marketing and advertising initiatives.
- Sea to Sky Park Services website, brochures and Go Camping guides.
- Assist and coordinate activities with the Camping & RV Coalition and the Society of PFOs.
- Assist with sponsorship agreements.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 graduation combined with College or University degree/credits in a related discipline.
- Strong administration and typing skills (60wpm).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Strong ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- The ability to work independently.
